This flag is a mashup of 2 American icons. The flag is inspired by the Betsy Ross flag with its 13 stars, and 13 stripes. In this modified design, the 13th star in the middle represents the North Star, for unity. In LDS tradition this centered star is the North Star, and represents Christ. The text is from Alma 48 in the Book of Mormon, referencing Moroni's charge to his patriots to defend their God, religion, their freedom, their peace, and families.
